Make sure the side panel is separated and not covering any of the socket connectors and also make sure that there are no pins sticking out of the motherboard itself or touching the bottom of the case at all…let alone touching the casing.i like to do the following before i put any parts in my computer….place the computer on its side on a soft carpet with a towel or something underneath to prevent it from sliding off the towel to prevent the added weight of the case if it slides off of the carpeting on top of that i also put just an empty air cooled aluminum radiator in the case to make it a little more secure and better support the weight than only having the sides of the computer resting on the carpet and while doing all these things to be very careful not to touch anything inside your case as to not burn yourself on any of the live components even though you think it is completely dead.you might want to also do your removal by disconnecting each wire one by one rather than taking all the screws out and removing the cables at once in order to prevent accidently shorting something out which might harm one of the chips which would otherwise be caused by simply pulling them out all at once while they are still connected
